Privacy & Support

Everything you need to get started with JamStrip, understand your account, and find answers along the way.

JamStrip Privacy Policy

How we handle your data and protect your privacy.

Information We Collect

JamStrip may collect the following types of information when you use the app:

Account and login information (e.g. name, email address)

Subscription status and plan details

App settings and preferences you configure

Metadata about audio files you upload (e.g. file name, size, format)

Basic diagnostics and processing logs used to troubleshoot issues

Audio Processing

JamStrip is designed primarily as a local, browser-based audio tool. Your audio plays and is controlled directly within your device when possible.

When you use stem isolation features, uploaded audio may be temporarily sent to a processing service to separate instrument tracks. This processing is done on-demand and is not retained for any purpose beyond delivering your results.

JamStrip also allows you to connect third-party services such as LALAL.AI using your own account and API key. When you do, your audio is processed under that service's own terms and privacy policy.

Microphone Access

JamStrip may request access to your device's microphone for features such as audio monitoring, playback testing, or future music creation tools.

Microphone access is always controlled by your device or browser permissions — you can grant or revoke access at any time. JamStrip does not record audio from your microphone in the background without your knowledge or active use of a microphone feature.

Third-Party Services

JamStrip integrates with third-party services to deliver certain features. These services operate under their own privacy policies and terms of use. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party service you connect to through JamStrip.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for the audio content you upload and process using JamStrip. Please only upload audio you own or have permission to use. JamStrip is intended for personal practice and creative use — not for reproducing or distributing copyrighted material.

Data Security

JamStrip takes reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No system is 100% secure, but we are committed to handling your data responsibly.

No Sale of Personal Data

JamStrip does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Full stop.

Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as JamStrip evolves. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of JamStrip after updates means you accept the revised policy.

JamStrip Terms of Service

Plain-language terms for musicians, creators, and learners.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using JamStrip, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use JamStrip.

Intended Use

JamStrip is designed as:

A music practice tool for musicians of all skill levels

A stem-isolation tool for learning, transcription, and ear training

A creative remix and practice environment

An educational musician workflow tool

JamStrip is not intended to replace original recordings, enable commercial distribution of copyrighted content, or serve as a production or mastering tool.

User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

All audio files you upload to JamStrip

Any exported, processed, or downloaded files you create

Copyright compliance and obtaining necessary permissions or licenses for uploaded material

How you use, share, distribute, or publish content — including downstream use of exported stems or mixes

Audio Ownership

You retain full ownership of the audio content you upload to JamStrip. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights over your original audio files.

Processing a file through JamStrip does not transfer ownership of that content to JamStrip or any third party.

Exported Audio Disclaimer

Files exported from JamStrip — including isolated stems, mixes, and processed audio — are created entirely at your direction. JamStrip acts only as a processing tool.

Using JamStrip does not grant you commercial rights to copyrighted music. Separating a track into stems does not change its copyright status.

Any redistribution, resale, publication, or commercial use of exported content is your sole responsibility. JamStrip does not endorse or authorize any particular use of processed output.

Third-Party Services

Advanced stem isolation may use third-party providers such as LALAL.AI. When you connect an external service using your own account or API credentials, you agree to that provider's own terms and policies.

You are responsible for your own third-party accounts, API usage limits, billing, and compliance with their terms of service.

JamStrip is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, pricing, or policies of any third-party platform. Outages or changes to third-party services are outside our control.

External Audio & Instrument Connections

JamStrip may support musician workflows that involve external instruments, microphones, or audio hardware. When connecting external audio equipment, please follow safe practices:

Use a proper USB audio interface when connecting instruments, keyboards, microphones, or mixers

Do not connect powered amplifier or speaker outputs directly into a phone, tablet, or computer — this can cause damage

Start with input volume and gain levels low, then raise slowly

Use headphones or external monitors connected to your interface for the best experience

JamStrip is not responsible for any damage to devices or equipment caused by improper hardware connections.

Microphone & Audio Input Permissions

JamStrip may request access to your device's microphone or audio input for features such as monitoring, recording utilities, tuning tools, or future musician-focused features.

These permissions are always controlled by you and your device's operating system. JamStrip will never access your microphone without your explicit consent. You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use JamStrip to:

Redistribute copyrighted stems or audio without proper authorization from rights holders

Commercially exploit, resell, or monetize copyrighted material processed through JamStrip

Engage in any unlawful activity

Abuse, overload, or misuse third-party APIs or services connected through JamStrip

Upload malicious, harmful, or illegal content

Account Suspension

JamStrip reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in abuse, fraud, copyright infringement, repeated violations of these terms, or any unlawful activity — with or without prior notice.

Limitation of Liability

JamStrip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind — express or implied. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy of stem separation, audio quality, or the fitness of the platform for any particular purpose.

Use of JamStrip and any connected audio hardware is at your own risk. JamStrip is not liable for any losses, damages, equipment damage, or legal claims arising from your use of the platform, exported content, or hardware connections.

Updates to Terms

JamStrip may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to the platform, legal requirements, or our policies. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Continued use of JamStrip after updated terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
